A vacancy has arisen for a Waste Operative within our HWRC team. You will be an integral member of a team of Waste Operatives responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) and the trade waste reception areas of the CSWDC Waste to Energy Plant. This is an interesting varied position dealing with members of the public in a busy and demanding environment. Core responsibilities: • Helping the public use the site in a safe manner, adhering to all Health and Safety guidance. • Providing friendly, informative and professional customer service. • Protecting yourself, your team, and the public, by promoting high standards of health and safety. • Safely operating equipment and machinery, reporting any faults and issues. Experience of weighbridge operation and overhead crane loading is desirable, along with telehandler and/or 360 excavator operations, but training will be available. You will be an integral member of a team of Waste Operatives responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Household Waste Recycling Centre which is part of the CSWDC Waste to Energy plant. This is an interesting and varied position dealing with members of the public in a busy and demanding environment. You will need to be keen, flexible, motivated and enjoy outdoor work. You should be a good team player and be able to work with the minimum supervision when required. You will also have good interpersonal skills, as the position will involve direct contact with members of the public. Experience of tele-handler / 360 Excavator and fork truck operations will also be desirable but not essential as training will be given.
