The core responsibilities will be: Providing the day-to-day supervision of the household waste recycling centre (HWRC) booking operatives, HWRC operatives, and waste operatives. Managing mobile plant, weighbridge operation, contractors, ash crane, air pollution control residue (APCR) disposal and waste movements on a busy public household waste site in Coventry. The job covers supervising the HWRC team and waste operations team on the energy from waste plant (Weighbridge, Ash Crane, and APCR). The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with excellent people skills, including the ability to deal with members of the public on a regular basis. Experience of the waste and recycling industry and operation of heavy plant machinery is required. You should hold a valid licence for forklift truck (FLT), telehandler, industrial rehandler (360) and ash crane. You will also be able to demonstrate high standards of performance in environmental, health and safety matters and possess excellent computer skills. You will be leading a team of waste and HWRC operatives responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the HWRC and the trade waste reception area of the CSWDC energy to waste plant. This is an interesting and varied position dealing with members of the public in a busy and demanding environment. You will need to be keen, flexible, motivated and enjoy outdoor and indoor work. You should be a good team player and leader. Have good interpersonal skills, as the position will involve direct contact with members of the public, liaison with customers and leading a team. All applicants should hold a Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC) Level 4 (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards it.
