Shift Team Manager

 CSWDC is an independently operated energy business producing and exporting electricity from the combustion of waste.   We currently have the following vacancy:

 

SHIFT TEAM MANAGER (STM)

A vacancy has arisen for a Shift Team Manager within the Operations team. You will be responsible for the management of all operational aspects of the plant, direct management of allocated shift team, control of operational employees with responsibility for all site activities in the absence of Senior Management at the weekend and out of office hours during the week. 

 Core responsibilities:

  • The day-to-day leadership of a team of Shift Operators / Shift Technicians who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant, maximising waste input and energy production.
  • Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Chairing daily meetings after a shift handover to review health, safety & environmental issues, overnight activities and plans for the shift ahead.
  • Fulfilling the duty of Senior Authorised Person (including HV and LV) for the purpose of issuing safety documents, switching, and carrying out mechanical and electrical isolations.
  • Working with the maintenance department when required to ensure maximum plant availability.

Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience working with steam generation equipment.
  • Extensive experience working with SCADA/DCS systems.
  • Familiar with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) Procedures including writing and issuing of safety documents.
  • Excellent proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and cover for shift staff in times of absence on short notice
